“A local logistics technology company — born last fall when two construction industry executives teamed up — is sprouting some leaves.
The venture, called Dauber Applications LLC, has been piloting the technology with several businesses in San Antonio and launched a beta version of a mobile app that enables general contractors to request to have materials or debris hauled away on-demand, the company confirmed recently.
It appears to be a similar model to Uber Technologies Inc.’s ride-hailing service, but where independent contractor truckers agree to be on-call for work, and it is a much more complex network since it caters to commercial construction sites.”
